January 26, 2019 To: Firestone Company/Corporate On Thursday, 1/24/19 I had my 1986 Ford Class B+ RV towed ($75 cost) to the Firestone location in Fairfield, CA. It presumably had a leak in a radiator hose and/or radiator. It was found to have 2 bad heater hoses and heater control valve. I approved to have them replaced; work was performed on Friday 1/25/2019. Saturday 1/26/2019 I asked my granddaughter to come from out of town to drive my car while I drove the van back to Rio Vista, approximately 27 miles. When I arrived at the storage facility white smoke started billowing from under the hood. Upon further inspection I found coolant/anti-freeze had leaked on the pavement where I stopped to park. I noticed the heater valve was wet and also it appeared there was splash marks on other parks of the engine under the hood. I immediately called the Fairfield Firestone, they told me to bring it back in, and this is approximately a 30 minute drive. After I arrived and signed it back in to have it reexamed I headed out to the parking lot where my other car was with my granddaughter. I notice the van had been moved to a bay, I walked there to speak to the mechanic, it was obvious that he was trying to tighten the screw on one of the clamps that was on one of the hoses. I questioned him and he said it seemed the clamp had come loose, that seemed totally plausible to me and didn’t worry much about it. I said great, and that I had to leave for a bit but would be back later. A couple of hours later I received a call from the Firestone shop, not sure who it was that I spoke with, but he informed me another hose was found to be defective and needed replacement. I told him what the mechanic had told me earlier, he put me on hold and when he got back to me said the mechanic was not correct but instead another bad hose was found, and it would be Monday before they could order. I then heard his scripted spiel about how he tells many of their customers the same thing, that there are occasions where one bad part can lead to another bad part and so on and so forth. I told him that I had questioned persons on the phone before picking up the van this morning if the van had been test driven, I was told they don’t test drive, but only run the engine, and spoke of 19 psi, and how it can go up to higher psi’s when actually driven. OK, what mechanic school did I go too? The man I spoke to this afternoon further went on to quote more psi facts, only to fall on uneducated women’s head. Why couldn’t the other bad hose been found with the 2 pressure checks that were supposedly done yesterday. I don’t think I should have to pay for any additional work. I think they are either incompetent in their work or not being entirely truthful. I should have been wary of this shop, several months ago I took my Honda Accord in for a tune-up/spark plug replacement, since then it has performed worse than it was before I took in to this shop. I mentioned it today when paying for the van, but it seemed to get side stepped. I’m giving you the opportunity to make this right, get whatever hose(s) and pressure checks, new fluid done without me putting out another penny or I will post it on Facebook and Yelp. I feel like I’m being taken advantage of as a women, and at age 70 I my health/heart can’t take this stress. I hold people in good faith until there are these types of shady incidences, this is twice now with my 2 vehicles and that is 2 too many! Jan Jones Gross

I brought my car to be re-checked for vibrations after the store replaced the front axle in my car. Mechanic claims that they cannot feel any, when my 14 year old son noticed that car gets vibrations that were not felt before the axle replacement. I asked to have a new axle to be installed since the one I have might be defective, but the service adviser refused to do so.

I had an appt at 10am for my car alignment. I dropped my car before 10am. The adviser told me my car will be ready by 4-5pm. I originally said that I will wait at the shop. He pushed me go home and wait for my car. Around 4pm, called shop and ask for my car is ready or not. The adviser tell me he already said car will be ready by 4-5pm. Okay then I take Lyft back to the shop and get my car. By the time that I’m at shop, the car haven’t start working on it. I have to stay till 6:30 to get back my car. What kind of service they provide???

Started to install front struts and didn’t have the right tool to remove the old struts from a Mercedes, put the car back together and couldn’t get it aligned as it was when I brought it in. Installed the wrong brand of tires. Hood doesn’t close because broke it when working on the car. I have to take the car to Mercedes dealer to get everything fixed and returned back to normal. It cost me over thousand dollars in repairs for the damage is done by Firestone. This is is likely to end up in court.

It would have been great if you had done the work on my brakes correctly the first time. Instead, my family is broken down in Tracy on our way to Disneyland. Instead of timeless memories built over a very expensive non refundable once a year vacation. My family will remember how the spent their vacation with the technicians at firestone instead of the characters at Disney. You couldn’t have screwed my family worse! It would be great if you make this right

Mario is amazing! If he's not a manager yet I hope it's definitely in the works because this man truly deserves it. From the point I walked in I was acknowledged and greeted by Mario in a very welcoming and professional manner. He thoroughly answered all my questions and was very receptive to all my concerns, after clearly understanding my needs Mario who is very knowledgable in his field put together a couple of game changing options for me to choose from. I am truly pleased with the customer service I received at this Firestone location. Thanks Mario

I was very impressed that my car was repaired much earlier than expected despite being a major job (replacing all the brakes and rotors). I also really appreciate that they investigated the problem with my turn signal, and when they found it was not caused by a burned out bulb, they did not charge me for labor or the part, even though I had previously authorized the bulb repair. The lifetime warranty on brakes is also a great incentive to use Firestone, and a real plus. The sales manager, Jack Fernandes provided great advice, and really understood my concerns, even though I know little to nothing about cars. He was never condescending or dismissive like the dealership tends to be.

Four tires installed. Slow (2hrs for 4 tires), cheerful but unhelpful, overcharged. Made appt for 7:15am. When I arrived at 7:20 I was told "my guy hasn't come in. He didn't come in yesterday, but he might come in today. I have another guy coming in at 7:50." I went off, had a coffee, read the paper ... came back after almost 2 hrs. Cars on the rack but the tires are on the wheels. In the end I was overcharged -- charged 40-45 series price ($56.60) instead of 50-55 price (~$44). Total price (fees, tax, etc) was $74.8. If you go, make appt, then call before heading over and make sure they have a worker on site. Double check charges on rcpt.

I was so surprised when I got the bill for my brake job. I was guided to Firestone because the Wheel Works was closed near me. I really miss them now! Service was fine, but I think I got taken, no value for my budget!

Jack and the team at this Firestone are wonderful. From their personable attitude booking my appointment, to working with me to figure out what the best plan of action was to repair my sad old vehicle. They accurately estimated the amount of time needed to complete the job and were just a pleasure! I have used Firestone's services for years now, but have always gone to another location in Oakland- I have never left feeling very appreciated as a customer and always feel like they are not very organized. I will be taking my business to the team at shop #023213 from now on.

I took my vehicle in for a lifetime alignment (which i paid a premium for) and a rotation. When i drove my truck it still pulled to the left and the tires were in the same locations when I inspected them. They did replace a broken tire lug for $80.00

I arrived at The Oakland Ca Firestone dealer to replace 1 tire on my grandsons Mazda 626. The line was quite long and I prepared myself for a long wait. The 2 gentlemen working the counter were working to help those who arrived 1st. To my surprise the line had dwindled down and we were next. Well even though we only needed 1 tire we were treated as if our purchase was a full set of tires and a brake job. The technician had our car on the rack and replaced the tire before we could blink. Did I mention this was a Friday evening? I plan to use the Bridgestone/Firestone dealership in the future based on the expedient service we received. Errol Davis 10/19/15

Juan was the technician who worked on my car and he was personable, knowledgeable and answered a lot of questions for me...questions I only asked because he was so approachable. Shop didn't feel super busy on a Tuesday afternoon, which may have helped that interaction. I believe he took good care of my car as well.

My brakes were squealing, so when I went in for a $20 oil change with a coupon, they did a free inspection. They told me the previous owner put new pads on old rotors so I could wait for the pads to wear and replace them. It was worth the $20 for sure!
