Landing an Advanced Auto Tech Job in Washington, DC
Wondering if you qualify for a Washington advanced technician position with Firestone Complete Auto Care? You must have five or more years of experience working on cars and hold proof of completion of a Vocational-Technical program in the mechanical field. A valid auto driver’s license along with the ability to drive customer and company cars is required. You’ll also need adequate math, reading, writing, and customer service skills. An ideal candidate is also A.S.E. certified in at least five of A1-A8 (L1 counts toward the five, too). If you are not, you will have a maximum of two years from the date of your employment to comply with this requirement. If Washington, DC requires additional licenses, you can expect to obtain those as well. Lastly, you should be able (and patient enough) to train apprentice mechanics and advise non-mechanical individuals on automotive diagnostics and complex services.
