Advanced mechanics in Portland have a number of responsibilities including diagnosing and repairing vehicles to specifications by completing services such as diagnostics and exhaust repairs, as well as brake and hydraulic fixes. Advanced auto technicians also train entry-level mechanics, overseeing them as they perform everyday services like oil changes and battery installations. Above all, you’ll champion the Firestone Complete Auto Care promise: to deliver cars that are fixed right, priced right, right on time.
Requirements for Advanced Technicians in Portland
Want to know what it takes to get a Portland advanced technician job? You must have five or more years of experience working on cars and hold proof of completion of a Vocational-Technical program in the mechanical field. A valid driver’s license combined with the ability to perform road tests on customer vehicles is a must-have. You should also have good writing, math, reading, and customer service skills. An outstanding application will also show you’re A.S.E. certified in at least five of A1-A8 (L1 counts, too). If you are not, you will have a maximum of two years from the date of your employment to comply with this requirement. If Oregon calls for extra certifications, you must also obtain and maintain those.
