Advanced auto technician job responsibilities include fixing cars per manufacturer standards by taking care of things like transmission repairs and alignments, as well as brake and hydraulic fixes. Advanced auto technicians also train entry-level mechanics, assisting them with hands-on tasks such as tire maintenance and part installations. Most importantly, you’ll help support the Firestone Complete Auto Care promise: to deliver cars that are fixed right, priced right, right on time.
Required Qualifications for Wilmington Advanced Mechanics
Wondering if you qualify for a Wilmington advanced technician position with Firestone Complete Auto Care? You must have at least five years of experience doing car repairs and proof of completion of a Vocational-Technical program in the automotive field. A valid auto driver’s license along with the ability to perform road tests on customer vehicles is a must-have. You’ll also need adequate math, reading, writing, and interpersonal abilities. An ideal candidate is also A.S.E. certified in at least five of A1-A8 (L1 counts toward the five, too). If you are not, you will have a maximum of two years from the date of your employment to comply with this requirement. If Wilmington, NC requires additional licenses, you’ll be expected to get those, too. Just as importantly, you must have the skill to mentor your less experienced teammates and educate non-mechanically-inclined guests about services and car lingo!
