What’s it like being an auto technician in Apex? As an advanced auto and tire technician at Firestone Complete Auto Care, you can expect your days to be filled with all things car-related, from test driving and repairing vehicles to educating non-mechanical clients on mechanical repairs.
Advanced auto technician job responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing cars to manufacturer guidelines by performing services such as fuel ignition and electrical repairs, as well as brake checks and A/C recharges. Advanced auto technicians also train entry-level mechanics, helping them with routine services like battery checks and oil changes. Most importantly, you’ll help support the Firestone Complete Auto Care promise: to deliver cars that are fixed right, priced right, right on time.
Requirements for Advanced Technicians in Apex
Wondering if you qualify for a Apex advanced technician position with Firestone Complete Auto Care? You must have a few years (5 years minimum) of mechanical experience under your belt and have completed an automotive Vocational-Technical program. Having a valid driver’s license at all times, combined with the ability to perform road tests on customer vehicles is required. You will also need excellent reading, writing, math, and customer service skills. A stand-out applicant also has A.S.E. certifications in at least five of A1-48 (L1 counts toward the five, too). Don’t have these qualifications… yet? No worries, you’ll have up to two years from the date of your employment to comply. If Apex, NC requires additional licenses, you’ll be expected to get those, too. Last but not least, you must have the ability (and patience) to mentor entry-level mechanics and advise non-technical customers about services and car lingo!
