After I dropped off the vehicle and asked the customer service rep to diagnose the check engine light, perform an oil change, and rotate the tires I received a voicemail from the store asking me what the make/model of my car was. Seriously, I had just dropped it off and left the keys with them and instead of looking out the window or even just listening to me the first time, they called to ask what vehicle I wanted service on after I left it with them! I came back the next morning to make sure they knew which vehicle it was (yes, it's as ridiculous as it sounds) and after a search for my keys they acknowledged that I had indeed brought the vehicle that they had in their parking lot. Whew… mystery solved! This was all a minor annoyance, but it did leave me with the feeling that this place is very poorly run. Now on to the major issue. After receiving a call with an update on the reason for the check engine light they told me that the Mass Air Flow Sensor was bad and needed to be replaced. As a reasonably mechanical person, I know that this is a $100 part and takes around 15 minutes to replace, but that they often just need to be cleaned with a special spray cleaner and the replacement is not always necessary. The rep on the phone quoted me over $400 for this job, which I took as a personal insult and borderline unethical / predatory. I told him not to do the job and that I'd come and get the vehicle. When I picked up the vehicle, I told him how I felt about the price that he quoted me for the job and was left with the feeling that he really didn't care and that I could take it or leave it. Then he told me that he was charging me $100 for a diagnostic fee, which consists of the tech hooking up the computer to find the fault code. I told him that I didn't think it was right to charge me $100 for a 5 minute job to hook up the computer, and again he was indifferent. At this point I had lost all confidence in the locations ability to perform honest service, and so I directly asked the customer service rep if they had actually diagnosed the mass air flow sensor as requiring replacement or if they just assumed it was bad after they found the fault code. He confirmed that they had actually diagnosed it and were not just going to replace the part without first confirming that the part was bad. I then reconfirmed by asking the direct questions "did you clean the sensor" as part of the diagnosis process? He confirmed that yes the technician had cleaned the sensor and that after cleaning the sensor the fault code persisted. I paid for my oil change and the $100 diagnostic fee and left. At home, I removed the sensor, cleaned it properly and reinstalled the sensor (took me about 15 minutes in all). This fixed the problem! The check engine light went out, and after hooking up my computer I saw that all fault codes were gone. This sequence of events leaves me to believe that one of the two following statements must be true. 1. The technician did not actually diagnose the senor nor did he clean it, and then LIED to the customer service rep. 2. The customer service rep LIED to me about the actual diagnosis and cleaning of the sensor. Very unhappy customer here. I'll no longer be bringing my personal business to this location, and I'll also stop using the other stores for the 300 vehicle fleet that I manage. Very unethical people and I intend to share this experience on a word-of-mouth basis as well as using online reviews.

Hector was kind and helpful with my tire issue. The repair seems sound and the tire repair process only took about an hour, first thing in the morning. Would recommend this location over a large dealership service department.

I always explain to the customer service rep what my vehicle needs. He listens and responds with additional questions and thoroughly explains all the options and costs before we agree to service. This location is always busy and I only had one negative service experience which was quickly resolved. 10 years and 6 vehicles later they have been great.

We were having problems with both turn signals on our 2012 Nissan Murano. We thought we had a major problem. Firestone found a very simple solution to get them working again.

Overpriced. Call around before having any work done. Saved $300-$500 on brake and transmission service by doing so.

My wife and I brought our 2005 Honda CRV in with brake issue of squeal . Firestone warrantied front and rear pads and rotors and rebuilt a right rear caliper with hardware. Work was done in a timely manner and there was no charges on any of the brake work.

I came in for a check up for my vehicle for the special $9.99, they made me aware of all the things that they found and told me what was most important thing to do immediately.. One the things was my back Hub Bearrings I got those fixed and its sounded great but due to them being a bit high in price I got my brakes done somewhere else.. But I loved the service... However when I first came in they where full of smiles and very friendly.. the second time later that week when I came to get work done no smile but still a little friendly.. but maybe he had a bad morning or just isnt a morning person and hadnt had his coffee.. But all in all not to bad.

During a recent trip I had a flat tire on the highway. Luckily I made it off the highway and a Firestone was close. After pulling in they were able to replace my tire in an hour, fix a missing front stud, and send me on my way. It was quick and easy, which is important since I had two kids in tow.

My husband thought he would need a new battery before winter so he scheduled an appointment for that. The tech called him after they looked at the car and checked the battery and told us the battery was good and we did not need a replacement. We thanked him and he said that was part of his job. It's heart warming to see there are still honest people around. Way to go Firestone and Rob.

Rob, Rafael, and Lee are a dream team at this location. All three of them took a very personal stake in making sure I was back on the road in better shape the same day I brought my car in, instead of giving themselves more time to gather parts and schedule a later appointment for me. This location always gives me honest feedback on my car when I bring it in, whether its for routine maintenance or an emergency repair that I need for my vehicle to function. I've never left there unhappy or unsatisfied and these guys need to be recognized. Will continue to come back to this location and I've recommended their service to many friends. They obviously do their jobs by offering up their services and promotions that they have going on that might be applicable to your current situation, but when it comes down to it, these are honest people that just want you to be safe and happy when you're leaving their shop. Big props to Rob, Raf, Lee, and the rest of the folks at Glen Ellyn Firestone

I choose the Firestone in Glen Ellyn to get my oil changed because they are ALWAYS fast and friendly. I could go elsewhere for cheaper, but I would not get the same level of quality or customer service.

Unfortunately, I have had a couple of relatively minor issues in my car over the last few months. Fortunately, I took my car to Firestone in Glen Ellyn IL. Their staff has always been professional, friendly, and respectful when I have needed their services. Yesterday, I was on my way out of town for the Memorial Day Weekend and discovered I had a flat tire. I went right to the Firestone on Roosevelt Road in Glen Ellyn IL and they got me right in, patched me up, and sent me on my way in just under 40 minutes. It is the only place I will take my car for what Firestone offers.

I have been going to this location for several years since I brought my car from Enterprise. Everyone is very friendly and detailed when explaining what I might need done on my car. I am a female and not a gear head and I am happy to say they explain but dont treat me like a idiot female who knows nothing about cars. So I will continue to go back for all my car maintence and car repairs. GREAT JOB

Adam is the worst person you could have for customer service and should not be exposed to customers in any way whatsoever. He doesn't listen and pushes constantly. I just wanted the oil changed and an engine noise checked out under the hood. I explained the noise was a bearing type noise like from something dealing with the fan belt like the bearing from the alternator, guide pulley, or power steering pump when the engine was running yet not moving. No, no, no, he had to keep asking questions about front end alignment, pot holes, tire replacement, and other unnecessary questions. He kept pushing. I got so mad that he wasn't listening to me, I walked out. I saw he walked out into the shop and I returned to the store and spoke to Hans. He was great and quickly took care of me. If it hadn't been for Hans, I would have left and vowed never to return. I have been to this location several times and Adam always aggravates me to no end. At this point, I doubt I will return and you have lost a good customer with several vehicles and all the bad referrals I can share to all my friends and neighbors. I will never go to Firestone again unless Adam is removed. You have lost my business forever. Paul B Armstrong Former Customer

We use them periodically because they are convenient, and do have pretty good mechanics. The problem is their salesmen are constantly trying to up sell us, and try to get us to have things done to our car that don't need to be done. That being said, they are very nice at our location, and if you're aware of what you want done, their mechanics are more than capable to get it done. The prices are very high, so when you can get a hold of coupons it does help. There have been many times when they've quoted us a price for a service, and we've checked with someone else and got the job done for two times less and just as good. The major reason we use them is convenience, and when we know exactly what's wrong and tell them not to go looking for anything else.

I got my oil changed. Simle right but nope they clipped a wire and my dash lights stayed on, wanted to charge me but they fixed it(for free like they should) took a few hours(4) to find out what was wrong they after they found out it took another hour and a half to finally get done. Lost a day of pay, plus had to call clients to cancel, was late picking up my son because the time they told me it would be fix quick that was a lie.. Plus the tire was wrong but found different ones. Not a place i will go back too.

Was getting fault code P0134 = O2 sensor 1 bank 1 circuit no activity. I replaced it twice myself, but code would come back in a week or two. Firestone said both sensors in bank 1 should be replaced together, so they did that, replaced both, even though my sensor 1 had only been in there two weeks. The fault has not come back. So I guess they were right. Frustrating that my code reader said nothing about replacing sensor 2. I'll never know if the two sensors I put in myself were really bad, or if it was just the code reader not giving enough information.

I am content with them but when I checked your website the staff's recommendation was different than the websites. This is confusing to me but I checked with the sales person and they assured me that for my car the ratings on the website did not take that into consideration and then tires that was suggested to me are more appropriate in spite of the website description. I do believe your website should be congruent or similar to the information your sales people have. I was assured he just went through training on those particular tires and believe they were correct for my car. I still have trouble with the concept of not believing the ratings you gave on your website that were very clear and specific.
