Staff was great and my car seems to be running better. However, they did have my car longer than they said they would and it has been weeks and I am still waiting for them to order the tires I need. Also, I've been playing phone tag for almost two weeks now regarding some of the repairs that have yet to be done and regarding the purchasing of new tires.

On 7/17/18 I came in prepaid ($435.50 cash) to have my front tires replaced & aligned invoice #333508, after changing both front tires, they were unable to get alignment in spec tolerance. They recommended a alignment cam kit. They gave me an alignment report for actual and before measurements dated 7/20/18@10:33am. I prepaid ($263.32 cash) and set an appointment for 7/28/18. invoice#333675 I was notified when my truck was finished servicing, I went to pick up my truck, spoke to Xxxx, asked if there were any problems, he replied no, just the POs didn't match, he passed me off to the girl that initially checked me in. I signed, she handed me paper work for work performed. After leaving Firestone, I noticed the report for the right front caster was in the red- Actual: 2.6*** before: 3.9. Because of this I opened up my truck hood to take a look inside. I found that the driver side front upper camber bolt was flush against my power steering tubing, which while driving the bolt will cut into the power steering hose. I went back to the store- #021725 shared my concerns with Xxxx and asked him could the bushings be worn and causing the actual measurement to be in the red. We walked back to truck and showed him what it looked like. I asked if there was any way that they could fix the bolt before it becomes a bigger problem, I suggested it could be the bushings that’s causing the bolt to stick out more, he says no in the bushings is a sleeve, I replied yes so they can torque down without over stressing the bushings. He said they would have to be pressed out and they don’t have the equipment to do that, I would have to change out the control arms. I replied really? He said yes. Xxxx saw a Technician walking by and asked he’s opinion, he looked at it and said yes I can see the bolt on the hose, we would need to correct that thru a modification, I would need to put a die on bolt before modification, and said we can do it but not today. Xxxx and I went back in the store, scheduled another appointment. I then asked Xxxx this is a covered repair under the 12000 mile warranty for all parts installed, He went into the shop and asked someone, he came back out and said it’s a .23 job code I would have to pay like $40 something. I asked to speak to the guy that gave him the quote. He said he was the service manager, he went in the shop again to get him but said he clocked out for the day. I told Xxxx so if the hose breaks and my power steering fails, Firestone will fix it. Xxxx says probably just the hose, because you seen the problem with the bolt. I said yeah the bolt you guys installed.I asked Xxxx is there a number I can call, he said yes you can call here. I replied is there a 800 number, Xxxx replied why call them, you can call Chelsey Rodrogues our Store Manager. I asked Xxxx are you sure? He said yeah, call the number. I went back to my truck called the number on Chelsey Rodriguez card, telephone no answer, no voice mail. I had my wife call Firestone while we drove home for the service managers name that came to verify problem with Xxxx. They said the service manager on duty was Xxxx. I trust Firestone quality service to be honest and fair, why should I pay, if the repair performed isn't safe. I have pictures and all work orders if needed. All of this could have been avoided with admitting error and coming up with more options for the customer instead of making the customer feel like "we have your money and we don't care, its your problem now. Now I’m sending emails out to Firestone about the situation. “Triple Promise” I can honestly say Xxxx needs to be retrained in customer service. How would you feel if the power steering hose failed, sprayed all over the engine, hoses, belts, electrical components, going into a turn, driving with oncoming traffic while someone you love is driving with your child. That’s my biggest concern my family. Then I start to question myself, should I have changed it out myself? Do I need to be there and watch the repair? How many others out there are driving with the same problem? In the quote there is no mention of the extra labor to correct cam kit bolt install. My truck is stock, some questions come to mind. 1) Technician first cam kit install. 2) Local store first cam kit bolt install on a Ford Ranger xlt 4x4. 3) Technician rushing to meet customer promises. 4) and I hope this didn’t happen, Technician installed kit, saw that it was on power steering hose and didn’t care because, what cust would double check work performed. I know how hard it is being a Technician, the responsibilities going with it, the lives you put at risk. Being a technician gives you a sense of pride, knowing that you can fix things others can’t.. Nobody is perfect but being a technician your rep is at stake, so communication with office staff is key. If technician that worked on vehicle was notified about problem, I guarantee he would fix his mistake. It seems his teammates didn’t care to help him out. I’ll end with this , It’s so hard to earn Trust, be Honest and Sincere and you’ll have a customer for life

Bad experience. Sales lady was extremely nice and helpful. That's where the positives end. This firestone has put the wrong type of oil in my newer truck beware. They used conventional oil instead of the full synthetic needed. They also refused to fix my brake caliper that they had rebuilt less than a month ago even though I am experiencing the same symptoms that warranted me bringing my truck InThe first place. A friend of mine told me never to being my car In here and I see why now.

I called two weeks in advance to ask about warranty replacement of dead batteries. I specifically told the salesperson that I wanted to replace the batteries with batteries that would last longer. The salesperson promised to get back to me with the warranty details and a replacement battery recommendation. The salesperson did not follow up. I did my own research and found batteries that appeared to be more heavy duty. I called Firestone and asked about these batteries. The salesperson was not familiar with the product. I called the local Interstate warehouse and was informed that the batteries were in stock. I called Firestone and asked them to order the batteries. I made an appointment for battery installation. Over the course of the following week, I called numerous times to find out if the new batteries had arrived. I recorded all of these calls. Each time I called, I had to call at least three times before the phone was answered (normal for this Firestone store). Each time, I was told the batteries had not yet been ordered but that they would be ordered immediately and they would call me when the batteries arrived. The installation appointment was carefully scheduled to insure that the service manager would be present and available. It was also specifically agreed (with the salesperson, the sales manager and the service manager) that the vehicle electrical system would be checked when the batteries were installed. On the DAY of the appointment, I finally received a call that the batteries had arrived and I confirmed the appointment. I arrived on time for the appointment and waited an hour before work commenced. A tech trainee was assigned to install the batteries. The tech damaged the battery clamps and was unable to tighten them correctly. He also sprayed terminal protectant under the cell covers, thus making it impossible to check the electrolyte without contamination. The tech did not notify anyone about this problem (I discovered the issue days later when I examined the installation). The service manager and I have, many times, discussed the incompetence of the techs. This is why we agreed that the installation would be supervised and that the installation would be performed by a tech in whom the service manager had confidence. Firestone did not check the vehicle electrical system. When I questioned the service manager about checking the electrical system, he told me that only one tech was qualified to perform the test and he was not working that day. The service manager told me I would have to come back the following day for the test. I called the next day to confirm that the tech would have time to test the electrical system. The service manager told me that I would have to make an appointment, leave the vehicle, and that I would be charged for the test. I examined the warranty on the new batteries and discovered that it is only for 18 months. This certainly does not conform to my request for longer-lasting batteries.

First of all, I sincerely want to apologize for my false negative remarks on the previous survey i took. I feel so horrible for "jumping the gun" when i said that the technicians were bad. Actually, it was MY own mechanical ignorance that lead me to believe that my car wasn't properly fixed, when in fact it was fixed. No leaks, no issues. Upon returning my car to the shop for reinspection, the lead mechanic explained, in detail, what was done & went beyond the call of duty to make things right, even though their was no wrong, except on my part. Even in my irrational state of mind, your employees were super nice & helpful. I apologized for being so wrong when they were so right. I must say, you company is very fortunate to have such a great staff. I am now going to be a life long FIRESTONE customer & & will highly recommend Firestone to all my friends and family. Again, im sincerely sorry for the negative response when they not only were right, but went beyond to make things right. My car feels greater than ever & i drove away with a big smile on my face. Honestly, the best service in my 35 years of experience with Mechanics. A special shout out to your front desk worker, Lorie, who truly is the best. She was so courteous & professional in every way & I am so happy to know there are truly great people in this world. Thank you Firestone. Thank you for being/employing such professionals. Life long customer from now on.

I just drove in to Firestone needing and oil change. Walked and got immediate help at the counter. Welcomed asked how can we help you today. I need an oil change. Immediately ask for my name and which car. Got info all put in and handed my keys. Asked about how long is the wait? Response was about and hour. The waiting area was pretty full. I went next door to eat. My van came off the rack and parked in a stall. I walked back in. I got immediate help from Lori she was ready with my paperwork and keys. Payed my bill and received my receipt. Lori took good care of me and my van. She has fabulous customer service very local with lots of ALOHA!!

Continuing from customer survey. Front desk person did NOT mention free services such as free alignment check or free tire rotation--or ANY free service!!! Both of the above would apply to me. I bought tires there about a year ago. Not applicable was only answer that considered question answered, so I could complete survey.

Terrible experiences here on multiple occasions. They don't pick up the phone, and they don't call you to notify you your vehicle is ready for pick up. They failed to notice my brakes were under warranty with them. Failed new brake installation resulted in brake failure the day after a visit there. Thankfully, I was on a flat roadway when it happened, or I would not be writing this review right now. Nice people, but they are understaffed and under-trained. Never mind the bad service... for your own safety, just stay away.

I love going to firestone for new tires and oil changes. The staff is professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I often have Epi as a service advisor and he makes sure to get me in and out before the quoted finish time. The technicians do a thorough courtesy check and the service advisor goes over the details with you. The waiting room is comfortable with several seats and a big couch and even free WiFi!

I had a wonderful experience on Friday, August 5, 2016. I had called in early to schedule a 10:30am oil change to find out that when I dropped the car, the store was very busy. Epy, was working the counter and told me that they couldn't work on the car until about 2pm due to the backed up appointments. He asked if I could come in at 4pm and I told him I could do that. I am thankful that Epy was honest in the time of my car service, otherwise, I would have been waiting a very long time to find out that my car wasn't even started yet. He said that he would honor an online coupon for the oil change services. When I came back after 4pm, Tanisha DeRego was my advisor and thanked me for coming back. She was very helpful and knowledgable about my 2006 4Runner. I had come in a week prior to have my AC checked and she was very thorough on what my car needed to be done. Thank you to Tanisha for taking the time to explain everything in layman's terms. She is very impressive and amazing with what she knows and Firestone is lucky to have her on their team! I will definitely come back for future auto services since I know Tanisha will be there.

I made a complaint this morning and I would like to apologize. I would like to thank Laurie, one of he Service Managers for all of her help. She went beyond the call to get me the answers I needed and I really appreciate the time she took. I should have spoken to her instead making a complaint online. Once it was brought to her attention, she took care of my needs right away! The technician who further looked over our company vehicle also printed out a technical bulletin witch further explained what could be contributing to the vehicles problems. I appreciate how far the people at Hilo Firestone went in order to get me answers. Mahalo The only thing I would ask would be that the sales person who called me would listen more closely when asking questions of the customer.

I used them a week ago the service was slow. When my car was done they did not even let me know I sat there for an extra 20 minutes. I saw my car come out and the service bag come in. But the agent did not tell me my car was done I went up to the counter to tell him my car was ready. He was the only one upfront . There was another person in the office but he did not come out to help.

My window was broken, So I took it in, the next day I was worried about someone stealing from my vehicle. I found my vehicle and I see my car window down and that window was not broken. I walked to my car, put my hand in to unlock it and set off the alarm, went into firestone. For 5 mins my car alarm went off and no one noticed until the guy asked me if I needed help. I said "yes" I would like my keys to the vehicle that the alarm is going off too.

Pros: convenient location Cons: poor customer service (kept me on hold 2x for minimum of 10 min); front desk associates look tired/unfriendly except Lori; dirty bathroom. Suggestion: transportation if wait is over an hour; more staff to main phone calls, friendly staff front desk. Unsure about the quality of service. I'll find out soon.

Took my Toyota in to check brakes that were squeaking, had new brakes put on by Kona Firestone less than 4 months ago. Also ask to have AC "serviced". Four 4 hours later I was told there was a problem with the hood closing. Then I was told they wanted to charge $148 to service AC, this is after I had been waiting there for over five hours. We had words! when they told me I owed $56 for AC inspection plus they would not let me leave until the hood problem was taken care of. I would not sign hold harmless agreement , so they fixed the problem. This after I had waited over 5 hours. I almost had a heart attack, so they charged me $24 had me sign the receipt and finally gave me my keys. My wife told me she would leave me if I even call Firestone again..

Car not done on time- eventhough I gave them plenty of time for oil change and he promised me 1130- not at noon! Then he got the bill wrong - charged me for tire rotation that they could not do due to tire condition - now I have to run back again and line up and waste my spare time and get my refund instead of doing it over the phone.

This location does good work at reasonable prices. The people are friendly and helpful. Their one problem is being timely. I always make an appointment ahead of time but my car is never taken in at that time. I can understand a 15 minute or even a 30 minute wait but the norm is one hour. That means I'm there an extra hour every time I take my car for servicing. And because I live far from this location, I have no choice but to wait there. If they can improve this, they would be perfect.
