Fort Lauderdale, FL Advanced Mechanic Job Description
What’s it like being an auto technician in Fort Lauderdale? When you join the Firestone Complete Auto Care team as an advanced mechanic, your days will be full of all things car-related, from test driving and repairing vehicles to explaining technical terms to less car-savvy clients.
Advanced mechanics in Fort Lauderdale have a number of responsibilities including troubleshooting and repairing cars to manufacturer guidelines by performing services such as fuel ignition and electrical repairs, as well as brake checks and A/C recharges. Advanced mechanics also mentor their less experienced teammates, assisting them with hands-on tasks such as tire maintenance and part installations. Most importantly, you’ll help support the Firestone Complete Auto Care promise: to deliver cars that are fixed right, priced right, right on time.
Required Qualifications for Fort Lauderdale Advanced Mechanics
Want to know what it takes to get a Fort Lauderdale advanced technician job? You must have five or more years of experience working on cars and have completed an automotive Vocational-Technical program. A valid driver’s license combined with the ability to drive customer and company cars is a must. You will also need excellent reading, writing, math, and communication skills. An outstanding application will also show you’re A.S.E. certified in at least five of A1-A8 (L1 counts, too). If you are not, you will have a maximum of two years from the date of your employment to comply with this requirement. If Florida calls for extra certifications, you must also obtain and maintain those. Lastly, you should be able (and patient enough) to mentor your less experienced teammates and advise non-mechanical individuals on automotive diagnostics and complex services.
