Job responsibilities for advanced technicians in San Diego also include troubleshooting and repairing cars to manufacturer guidelines by taking care of things like transmission repairs and alignments, as well as inspections and brake checks. Advanced auto technicians also train entry-level mechanics, assisting them with hands-on tasks such as oil changes and battery installations. Required Qualifications for San Diego Advanced Mechanics
Wondering if you qualify for a San Diego advanced technician position with Firestone Complete Auto Care? You must have a few years (5 years minimum) of mechanical experience under your belt and hold proof of completion of a Vocational-Technical program in the mechanical field. A valid auto driver’s license along with the ability to test drive clients’ cars is a must-have. You should also have good writing, math, reading, and communication skills. A stand-out applicant also has A.S.E. certifications in at least five of A1-48 (L1 counts toward the five, too). If you’re not, you’ll have up to two years from when you join the team to get adequately certified. San Diego, CA may also require extra certifications, in which case you must also obtain and maintain those. Last but not least, you must have the ability (and patience) to train apprentice mechanics and educate non-mechanically-inclined guests about services and car lingo!
