My experience at the downtown Firestone was pleasant from beginning to end. Everyone was so friendly AND professional. I'm more than satisfied with my service and will be returning for many of the recommended services I received on my invoice. I definitely feel like everything was reasonably priced and that I'm in good hands with the Downtown SLC Firestone!

1. Minor Problem: After completing a quote and scheduling an appointment online, when I got to the store, the only information that was saved from what I put in online was my name and appointment time. Why wouldn't the system just save all the information I had input online and transfer it to the store? Annoying and inefficient, but I can consider that a minor problem. 2. Minor Problem: When the staff printed up an invoice for me, it was the wrong model of tire. I wanted the Destination LE2 T-rated tires priced at $118.49, not the Destination LE2 H-rated tires priced at $124.99. When the staff tried to void out the invoice, he said that the system wouldn't let him do it, but that he would print out a receipt showing the correct tires and the correct price at time of pick-up. Weird, but fine. 3. Major Problem: The invoice mentioned above included two products that were some sort of lifetime warranty and road hazard protection that added up to nearly an extra $150 (!!!) compared to what the quoted price was online. Again, when I told the staff I didn't want those two products, he had trouble removing them because he wasn't able to void out the invoice. Why would you throw on an added cost of $150 without asking the customer first?! Extremely bizarre or maybe even shady. The default invoice should EXCLUDE additional charges, and the customer should be ASKED if they want additional products or warranties. 4. Minor Problem: After all that, when I came back to pick up my car, they had installed THE WRONG TIRES. They put the H-rated tires on instead of the T-rated tires. At least they just ate the cost and didn't ask me to pay extra for their mistake. In general, the staff there seemed to be either unknowledgeable in their products or just incompetent. Or perhaps the systems and processes they have in place are just too restrictive -- I don't know. Bottom line is it's a terrible experience for the customer. Buying tires should NOT have to be that complicated. It's a shame, but I really can't recommend this place to any friends or family. About the only thing they have going for them is that the price of the tires I wanted were slightly cheaper there than at other places. But next time, I'd gladly pay the extra money somewhere else for staff that know what they're doing and selling, and a place that doesn't have shady business practices of trying to bill for additional products and services that the customer didn't ask for.

Just a heads up to others who purchase tires here. I have purchased 3 sets of tires from this store. Today was the first time I needed to have a nail removed from a tire and have the tire plugged. I was charged $30.96 for this service. No customer loyalty, I will never purchase tires from here again.

Terrible. Broke my car. Went in to have tires installed and they caused my brakes to be locked on and destroyed the hydrolic system so that I had no brakes driving home. Easy 20 min job has now cost me days and I needed to head out of town.

Round 1 was a hiccup. Misdiagnosis that didn't solve what I thought was a wheel-bearing problem but cost me $600 to replace "cupped tires" ( I knew they getting ready for replacement, but maybe not until fall). They assured me the sound was due to the tires, not the bearing. But the rumbling sound persisted after the new tires, so I took it back (unhappy but not angry--things happen, after all), and the manager-in-charge took it to heart, road-tested the vehicle, and quickly determined that, indeed, a wheel-bearing replacement was needed. He offered to do it at no charge, since they hadn't solved the problem the first time around. Wow. That's what I call great customer service. I didn't have to argue or threaten in the least. He saw the shortcoming and made good on it. I've been a long-time Firestone customer (their downtown locations are great for us who work downtown), and this latest experience pretty much locks me in for a good long time. Plus, my last set of Bridgestone/Firestone tires exceeded the mileage estimate.

I worked with Nick over there to get my car checked out and fixed up. I was shocked when he gave me a recomendation on what needed to be repaired the most rather than trying to shove an overwhelming bill down my throat. He told me what was needed right away and what could wait. After getting pricing on everything I took his recommendation of what should be done. Later that day I picked my car up with all the critical issues fixed and he gave me list of everything else we had talked about which was helpful. Looking at Nick for the first time with a bald head and tattoos I figured it was going to be hard to work with him. But he is the most professional auto care guy I have ever met. Totally answered my questions in the most professional way it shocked me. I wasn't expecting that. But major kudos to him. As long as he is there when I am ready to get more work done then I will bring my car back. Otherwise I will facebook stalk this guy so I can work with him directly if he moves on.

Tom P, the desk person was friendly and worked my car in quickly even though I didn't have an appointment. Even though it was just an oil change and tire rotation, it was done quickly and well. I feel confident I could take my car there for more serious work should the occasion arise.

Everyone hates bargain-hunting for tires. Firestone showed me TireRack.com, beyond best pricing, road hazard insurance was free! Tires ship directly to the Firestone location within days and get installed professionally. A discount coupon applied. This was the best of all possible solutions. Awesome quality, pricing, and service 5-stars! *****

I had taken my car in twice to air up the tires. I never asked them to look at them. When I finally did, I found I had a nail in the tire. They were great about recommending new tires, getting them installed, keeping me updated, and getting me back on the road. In addition, I love the new tires! Nick was great to work with!

Hi Hi to whom it may concern, I love this place. We had a huge snow fall in SLC and I needed snow tires bad. Those guys not only fit me in that day they found me the best snow tires at their warehouse and had them transported over. My car was in and out on the same (very busy) day! I can't begin to tell you how much I appreciate the great service!!!

My battery died last week, i took it to the shop and i explained what happened. The person told me that they will run a diagnostic to find out if it is the alternator or the battery of something else that cause the battery to die. The shop call me later to tell me "good news, we run all the tests and it was only the battery that was bad" I have them replace the battery and i paid for the diagnostic as well. I took the car home and the next day when i was ready to go to work, the battery was dead again. My wife helped me jump start my car. When i came to work, i called the shop and explained to them what happened. I was told that there is something else going on with my car and that there could be a short somewhere. They told me to bring it in again and pay about $84 for a new diagnostic. I refused and took it to another mechanic the next day. I explained to him what happen. He tested the battery, it was good, when i started the car, the voltage reading is still at 12V. It told me that it was my alternator that when bad and that i need it to replace it. I explained to him that Firestone told me that nothing was wrong with my alternator and that there would be an electrical short somewhere. He told me that he will replace the alternator and if the battery dies again, he will let me keep the new alternator and give me my money back. I agreed and he replace my alternator. It has been 4 day now that my battery is not causing me a problem. They had me buy maybe a battery that i did not need. AND they wanted to charge me $120 to change my headlights. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THE SHOP AGAIN AND I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THE SHOP TO ANYONE.

We went in for an oil change and to have them do a diagnostic test. We were told 40 minutes for the oil change and 15-20 for the diagnostic test. Over an hour and a half later they told us the car was done, but they weren't able to change the oil. They offered no explanation as to why it took them 1 1/2 hours to do a 20 minute test.

I stopped in because i had a coupon from the mail, and I had brought my car in before for an oil change. The sales person who helped me was very friendly and nice, and took the time to explain what i was billed for. He also showed me what my old air filter looked like, and it was bad. The guys in the shop also checked my tire pressure for me and filled a couple of tires, which was a bonus because i hate doing it myself. I would definitely recommend this service center!

I first brought my car to this company nearly a year ago, because they offered, with a coupon, the best deal of their competitors on an oil change. So when I needed to replace a main relay (which my research told me would hopefully solve an intermittent non-start problem with my car) they were on my list to call to get quotes for this service. I called twice to get a quote for the job, and to discuss possible options, and was quoted a very good price to do the job, and was assured each time of the price and told this quote is within "a buck", "but we need to have you bring it in to look at your relay to get you the exact price. After bringing my car in and waiting for about 45 minutes or so, the service guy told me he was very sorry he quoted me such a low cost, but that it would be 3 times what he quoted over the phone. The new price was still within what a dealer would charge if not less, so I told him let's finish this as I have already waited so long, and I'd rather get this done and the problem solved. So they completed the job, and I paid at the new price on my credit card, and told them I would be in soon for my next service. All is good, they have me as a loyal customer up to this point. But after I got home I remembered that they had mailed me a colorful brochure with a coupon (among other coupons) for "$30 off any service purchase of $50 or more" which didn't expire for a week. I had not brought it with me (and soon forgot about it) as I was quoted a price under $50 and so not within the coupon terms. I read every word of the brochure, it said nothing about needing to give it to them at the time of service. No where. So I called them and asked the manager, who answered the phone, if he would honor the coupon they had mailed to me? I explained that I was just there a few days ago, and that they completed a service for me, but that I did not bring the coupon with me as I was quoted a price below the coupon requirements, but subsequently while having the service done, was told the price would be higher than first quoted, and would he honor this coupon now if I drove back with the coupon and the receipt of service performed? I was dumbfounded. The manager whose name was on their colorful brochure of coupons, which they mailed to my address, with big letters of Trust Us To Do It All, told me excuse after another as to why he could not honor this coupon. First he said you have to give it to us at the time of service, then he said "your coupons expired" (it was not), then he said we have no way of crediting your credit card, then he kept asking when did you receive that coupon? Which I said I don't remember, that's irrelevant as I obviously have the coupon which you mailed to me at my home address, and the expiration date is not for another week, and I told him exactly what the coupon said. Finally in disbelief and frustration, I told him you obviously intended to give me this benefit, or you wouldn't have mailed it to me, but you really don't care to have me as a loyal customer after all. He finally gave in, after telling me it was basically my fault as I would not tell him when I received the coupon after he kept asking, and further I was talking fast and he just couldn't understand me, but reluctantly "I will just this one time" let you drive back and we will give you credit for your coupon". NO Thanks! manager at this location. Keep your coupons. I will give my business to a company who understands good customer service. You failed. And for what? For $30 you offered me in the first place? Really? Way to build loyalty.

I just wanna say that I took my car in and got it checked. To say that my car needed tons of work with oil changed and tiers and more. I was able to save money with the great customer service they gave me. It was nice to see that they cared and were not just out to see how much they could get out of me. I'll gladly send people there way and keep going my self.

One thing I love about Firestone is that they are always willing to help. They're honest about what actually needs to be done to get your car running the way you want it, and they don't push unnecessary services on you. And if something doesn't go as well as I want, if I go back, they're always willing to fix it. It's great.

The three times I went for service I have been pleased with the results but the costs are excessive. I realize you get what you pay for but when given an estimate of $800 and it turns out to be $899, that put a big dent in my pocketbook. I am living on a fixed income and $99 is a lot of money to me.

Very over priced for what needed to be fixed I found it for almost 700$ cheaper. Had to go back several times on things they should have found the first time. I asked to get a print out of the estimate but never got it. I will never go back to them. This is after 2k later

Nice people, fair prices, one gripe: I was informed at checkout that I had a stripped lug - stud. My suspicion is the tech cross-threaded and stripped it when he re-installed the wheel, as A- I've had that wheel off and all lugs were fine. B- if one gets in a rush and doesnt "start" the applicataion of re-installing lug nuts by hand then crossthreading is easy. C- if it was stripped prior, then they should have grabbed me walked me to the service bay and showed me the problem. The tires are good, prices are good - but I'm none to happy about the stripped lug.
