This is an updated review to my last one from 10/15/16.... On my last review I mentioned how each time I've taken the car in, something else happens to it within a few days every time since my first visit on 7/17/16, and now I have been back a total of 5 times. I did forget to mention some of the other problems. On my very first visit I took it in for rear break pads, new rotors, also a coolant tee replacent as well as the oil changed. The next time I went to drive my car it wouldn't start. Had to go back and needed a new battery. After that was put in, every time I start the car it takes at least 5-7 seconds to start. It sounds like it isn't going to every time, but then it does. And has been like that since the battery change. Then 8/31 my A/C stopped blowing cold. Turns out it was the temperature gauge. But I paid for a full a/c system check as well. I was told everything else was fine. (Also the mechanic took it upon himself to replace a bulb on my tail light/blinker that was getting ready to die, as it was blinking fast. I never asked them to do this because I was going to do it myself. The package of bulbs were sitting in the cup holder in PLAIN view to see. But I was still charged the $15 for it) The day after the a/c was fixed my gas mileage started dropping. I use to get about 330 miles on a full tank. Now I only get around 200. Then on 10/15 the a/c stopped blowing cold again!!!! Because of the mileage issue I took the car back on 10/8 to get the 3 step fuel injection system cleaner done as well as an oil change. And then AGAIN the VERY NEXT DAY when I started the car not only did it take the 5-7 seconds to turn over like usual since the new battery was put in, but when it does finally turn on it makes a weird sound and then when I step on or even press and hold the gas pedal on the floor the RPMs will not exceed 4000 RPM. And it does this every day now, also once I start driving, and the car is warmed up, usually about 30 mins or so, then the "check oil" symbol lights up on the dashboard. This has NEVER happened in the past on my car. EVER!!! Last, a couple days later is when the A/C stopped blowing cold AGAIN. And I had just had it fixed a month and a half prior. It ended up blowing cold again the next day, but it kept going in and out over the next 2 weeks, until I finally couldn't take driving in the heat anymore so I bought a can of Freon (costing me another $33) and gave the Freon system a charge and it seemed to help until I got the car in the shop today, 11/5/16....now on 10/15 when I left my last review on this page, I was hoping I would hear back from someone at this stores location, since I gave a 1 star rating. (I would have given 0 if I could.) I gave it 2 weeks but never heard from anyone. Not only did I leave that review, but I also contacted the corporate headquarters main website and wrote a formal complaint explaining all of this as well to them on that same date, and again I was waiting to hear back from someone before taking my car back in, however after 2 weeks not a single reply from anyone at all.... So on 10/29 I took my car in with the intension of dropping it off and leaving it over night. I explained all of this to Jesse. But he told me there was nothing he could do. I needed to come back when the manager, John, was there on Monday. I explained I can only come on the weekends due to work. So he took my info to have John call me Monday, which he did. John was very nice as always. I told John that the ONLY reason I have continued to come back each time during all this headache was because of how incredibly nice he and Jesse were to me every single time I came in. But something must be going on in the shop with the mechanics. Because if this was a 1 time thing then I would chalk it up to coincidence, but 3 times now!?! This is absurd. He said to bring it in this weekend and he would fix anything that they may have messed up.... When I dropped my car off this weekend he said he was going to make sure that everything I had listed (I had ever issue that happened since the 1st visit written out and detailed for him) would be reviewed and addessed and also will be doing an entire once over on the whole car. Then when he called me to update me about the findings, he said that- the reason the car is not getting good mileage anymore and also taking so long to start up is because the Fuel Pump is leaking gas, and that to get that fixed it will cost $759.00.... Now he did go on to say that this is something that they should have noticed when they were doing the Fuel injection system cleaning on 10/8, and since they missed it, he will refund me the $99 I paid for that, or apply it to those repairs. Then the check oil light that keeps coming on ever since the DAY after the last oil change on 10/8, he said is because of a "bad oil sending unit" and THAT is going to cost me $93 to repair. He said the A/C was perfectly fine. The Freon levels are showing completely full and topped off (yeah because I just went to the auto parts store this previous Monday and bought the Freon charge can because I could take driving in this 90℉ heat when I have an hour plus commute each way every day!!!) And the rest of the A/C parts are fine and in working order. So apparently when he told me that he would be repairing the items that his shop broke/screwed up on my car at no cost for me when we spoke on Monday was a lie. Because now absolutely nothing was fixed today that they screwed up. However my front brake pades started to make that loud squealing sound to notify my that new pads are needed, as of last weekend. So I knew I couldn't put it off much longer. So while it was there I had them do my front brakes. Of course he said I needed new rotors as well!!! Big shocker there! Never heard of a mechanic saying you only need pads....even though it's only been 2 years since the brakes were last done on the front end, and only have driven barely 25,000 miles in that period... I am probably going to regret having them done here because I'm sure some other problem will come up within the next few days. However I will not be back. I will pay for the brake repairs, and then I will get quotes from other shops for the Fuel pump and this oil send unit thing since John apparently is not going to be fixing what his mechanics obviously did to my car (I did mention to him how I was still mad over being charged for the blinker that I never asked to have replaced on 8/31, so today he refunded me the $15 as well as the $99 for the Fuel system cleaner which I had him just apply to the brakes)... It's not like I have some old POS that's falling apart. My car is barely 8 years old. I get the oil changed every 3k miles. I get regular scheduled tune ups. I have always taken care of it over the last 4 years I've owned it. But it should NOT be having these problems at all!!!! And I will most likely not be back here after everything that's happened. Over the course of 4 months and 5 visits I've spent almost $1500.00 and since John is not going to fix the problems that his mechanics caused on my car at no cost (because why should I be charged to fix or replace something that I had absolutely no part in damaging or braking?) Apparently he doesn't want my repeat business, because if he fixed either the "oil sending unit" or the "fuel pump" at no charge, then that would have ensured my repeat business for a very long time. Instead I will have these repairs someplace else.

For some reason every time I have had work done on my car at this location within 1 to 7 days something else coincidently happens to my car and I end up taking it back in and spending several hundred dollars more on repairs and I am absolutely sick and tired of it. I just had it in last weekend to have an oil change and the 3 step fuel system cleaner done to help my gas mileage and acceleration. However I haven't gotten ANY change in my mileage. Its just as bad as it was... But what really has me mad is after the oil change, every day this week I drove home from work the "check oil" light comes on in the dashboard. I am absolutely furious by this. This has NEVER happened with my car until this most recent oil change. It makes me believe something was not done right. I of course checked the oil level, to me it looks ok, but I'm no mechanic so I can't be sure. But what has me even more upset right now is the fact that in September I took my car in and spent over $500 repairing the air conditioner, which apparently stopped working because of the temperature gauge failing and needing to be replaced. I thought going in it may have been the compressor and when they told me it wasn't, I was also assured that my compressor actually still looks like new! And nothing is wrong with it at all..... Well 6 days after my most recent visit to the shop having repairs done, none of which had ANYTHING to do with the air conditioner, all of a sudden it just stopped blowing cold AGAIN!!! Now I don't know what is going on here. But it is not my car "falling apart". Because these things only seem to happen every single time like clockwork within a week after I have something else done at this location. I only started going here back in June of 2016. And I have been treated so great by the service guys inside, they are so nice and always so wonderful to me. It's great and why I keep going back really. So it's nothing against them. But apparently something must be going on in the shop with the mechanics. Because this can not be coincidence time after time. I would have believed it once bit this is now the 3rd time I had something ELSE go wrong AFTER having something completely different fixed within a weeks time. Now I have not taken it back in yet for the issues it's having with the oil and AC because I don't want to pay for something that I didn't break, AGAIN!!! But I do feel your company needs to be made aware of how unhappy I am right now and I want to know how you are going to go about fixing my car the right way since nothing was wrong with it when I took it in last week, and my AC was working perfectly after spending $500 in repairs a month and a half ago! Please let me know what can be done. Thank you

The sales agent Jose, and the mechanic Eddy Chaves who fixed my vehicle and is very knowledgeable, are always very courteus and professional. They do very good work. I am very satisfied with their services and will always recommend them.

Great service. I only took it in for the breaks. I also knew I had a leak with my coolant and was holding off on getting that fixed because the last place I took it to told me it would cost $500 to get done. When John called me about my estimate he asked if I was aware of the leak. And I explained it to him. He said "no it will only cost $89 to fix". So needless to say I feel like I got the best treatment here at firestone!!! They were fast friendly and greatly priced. Thank you!!

John, the manager is just great and went way above any other auto shop I have been to. The techs were also very friendly and they had me in and out in under an hour with no appointment. Shop was very clean and all staff were overly helpful. Just an amazing staff all around.

John and Will are both great people ready to help for any car issues. Our AC was not working, the technician really acted promptly and told us that it needs a new compressor as the compressor was bad. They order the parts and fixed the issue in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend this store to anyone who needs car service. I even found out the team as a whole are really doing fantastic job. Being a loyal customer of Firestone, I visited many firestone stores across nationwide but this store is really exceptional. They are best at their service. Keep up the good job.

I love the service, I receive from the downtown Tampa, FL Firestone. They do great work and they get you in and out. The only thing,i would love to see is for Firestone to offer more loyalty coupons/discounts on some of there services for repeat customers which will make you keep coming back to the same store.

Seems like if you go in with financing they just charge you a ton. The tires had a ton of additional charges. I thought I needed my front brakes replaced which I was glad to hear I didn't but then they took it upon themselves to replace the back without asking. Since I already had financing they just did it. Pretty sure the alignment was done improperly or poorly. Then as I am waiting for my truck the guy bringing it out is revving it, slamming on the breaks and laughing while he is doing it. Informs me he made a mistake and changed my oil so I should be happy I got a free oil change, problem is I didn't need one. I had just got one. I won't be going back. This is the second bad experience in a row. Oh yeah my brake booster was going bad. My brakes were fine. They said it was the master cylinder. Wrong again. I feel poor is pretty low but fair isn't acceptable because it wasn't.

The service is always prompt and John & Co. are very friendly. Best part is that everyone there is meticulous about quoting you prices at the outset and calling before even an extra penny is added to the bill. I work downtown so it is convenient, affordable, and I can walk to and from work when I need service done. It's the only place I go for both my car and my wife's.

Had an oil change and the mechanic pointed out things that may go wrong in the near future. They checked my tires, wipers,turn signals, head lamps and all other fluids in the car. I left their with the encouragement that my car received the best Automotive Care as if I was performing the work.

I have been taking my car to Firestone downtown Tampa for years. The guys there are always extremely helpful and friendly, always willing to go the extra mile to figure out a problem, and call me before they do anything that is going to cost extra money. They take extra time to explain things to me so that I understand what I'm paying for. Super service, fantastic people, excellent work!

Overall was a good experience except the store manager did make a rude comment, but the man helping me, I dont recall his name was a younger african american male who went above and beyond to help me out while I was stuck in tampa
